Nr. Halima Hassan Bello: A Nurse’s Journey of Dedication and Excellence

As I sit to write this piece, I can’t help but feel humbled by the incredible story of Halima Hassan Bello, who has captured the hearts of many with her unwavering determination and commitment to the nursing profession.

Halima’s journey began when she completed her basic nursing program and started working with Jigawa State. Despite the challenges that came her way, she remained steadfast and determined to advance her career by pursuing her passion for nursing. Halima’s resolve was put to the test when all efforts to secure her release for in-service training proved abortive. However, this did not break her spirit as she made the bold decision to resign and go after her dreams.

With much determination, hard work, and resilience, Halima was admitted to pursue her bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences at Bayero University Kano. Her academic prowess and dedication to her studies shone through as she emerged as the overall best student in the department with . Such an outstanding achievement is not only commendable but also serves as an inspiration to many young people in Nigeria.

This accomplished lady hails from Buji LGA of Jigawa State and holds an impressive educational record. She graduated from the College of Nursing Science Birnin Kudu in 2015, where she received her certifications as a Registered General Nurse. She then went on to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Sciences at Bayero University Kano, which she completed in 2022. During her time at Bayero University Kano, she excelled in her studies and earned several other specialties in addition to her Bachelor’s degree, including the certifications as a Registered Public Health Nurse and a Registered Midwife. Her dedication and hard work have enabled her to excel in multiple areas of nursing and healthcare. She is a talented and passionate professional who has made significant contributions to the field of nursing in her community.

Halima’s story is not just that of excellence in academics but also that of true grit and deep-seated passion for nursing. Her journey reflects a life of dedication and a true calling to a noble profession that has the power to change lives.

As we celebrate Halima’s success, we must not forget the many young women and men in Nigeria, particularly those in the nursing profession, who face several challenges in accessing quality education and training.
